Socially Conscious Brand
If there was one thing Marina Yglesias was sure about when starting her own business, it was that her brand had to have a social conscience. Her life-changing travels in India showed her how a truly sustainable brand could help empower women, directly impacting and improving their lives, in so many communities. Her desire was always to help other women, empowering them, in a place where sometimes they are not even considered and forgotten by the system.
Today, Marina Yglesias Jewelry is proud to partner with an incredibly dedicated NGO in India called Urmul Seemant Samiti, and fully supports its innovative Bead Ball Project, that empowers women in the Thar Desert communities. By providing these women with support, training and development in their ancestral jewelry and embroidery techniques, Urmul helps them generate income for their families, become more independent and, ultimately, lead better lives.
Marina Yglesias Jewelry donates 5% of her brand profits to Urmul NGO.
Like Urmul, Marina Yglesias firmly believes that true social sustainability is achieved by supporting grass roots projects, that preserve and build upon the traditional livelihood of each community. She wishes to create fashion jewelry in a spirit of good will, by managing a social sustainable brand.
